I’m Heather Strickland, a Memphis headshot and personal branding photographer with a studio in historic downtown Hernando, Mississippi. I specialize in creating professional headshots, executive portraits, modeling portfolios, and branding photography for professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, and organizations throughout Memphis, Germantown, Southaven, Hernando, and the greater Mid-South.

Photography has always been about more than creating a beautiful image for me. It’s about connection. It’s about helping people step in front of the camera feeling comfortable and confident, then capturing the version of themselves they want the world to see.

I know that most people don’t naturally feel comfortable in front of a camera – and that’s okay. My job is to guide you through the entire experience. From wardrobe guidance and posing, to expressions and the small details that make an image feel authentic, I take care of the process so you never have to wonder what to do. The result is a natural, polished image that feels like you, only elevated. I wholeheartedly believe the reason my business exists is to help people see the best version of themselves.

Whether I’m photographing a business owner building their personal brand, a leadership team representing their company, a professional updating their online presence, or someone celebrating an important milestone, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel authentic, and uniquely yours.

In 2019, I opened my portrait studio just steps from the historic Hernando Square. I have built a career around creating an experience where people feel welcomed, encouraged, and genuinely seen. Clients often tell me they arrive feeling nervous and leave feeling more confident, inspired, and surprised by how much they love their images.

I’ve been honored to be named DeSoto’s Best Photographer seven years in a row now, and I’ve had the privilege of photographing clients from all walks of life – from professionals and entrepreneurs, to pageant contestants, models, actors, and even Miss United States!

My approach combines thoughtful direction, intentional lighting, and a genuine desire to give people the freedom to feel seen. I believe the best photographs happen when someone feels comfortable enough to let their personality come through.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me noticing the small details that make life beautiful: the way light changes throughout the day, the character of an old building, the quiet moments in nature, or the stories people carry with them. That curiosity and wonder are at the heart of everything I create.

My hope is that every person who steps in front of my camera walks away with more than a photograph. I hope they walk away seeing themselves a little differently, and recognizing the best version of who they already are.
